For most of the people cockroaches are undesirable insects to have around. This mainly because these cockroaches are often associated with filthy materials and their movement into peoples habitation implies without a doubt that they will contaminate anything they come into contact. Until recently it was not known that cockroaches can induce allergic reactions in people. Allergens produced by cockroaches can be inhaled, ingested by people and this often results in allergic reactions. This situation is more pronounced among asthmatic people. The symptoms of cockroach induced allergique reactions include sneezing, a runny nose, eye irritation and other skin reactions. In some rare cases, people may experience breathing difficulty or anaphylactic shock. Cockroach body parts such as wings, legs, or feces are generally the inducers of allergy in many people. Some people can also become over-sentsitized just by seeing cockroaches. Cockroach also produce allergenic proteins and bad smell that irritate people. Unpleasant odor released by cockroaches can also irritate people.
